ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Deborah!

The face behind Harper Creek Photography

I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based in Great Falls, Montana, and you'll usually find me chasing couples around Glacier National Park, hiking to epic views, and making sure your day feels more like an adventure than a photoshoot. If you're looking for natural, true to color photos, a laid back experience, and someone who'll happily carry your snacks or fluff your dress, you're in the right place.

MEET THE GANG

I DIDN'T ALWAYS KNOW THIS WAS MY PASSION...

I spent ten years working in healthcare, walking alongside people through some of the hardest days of their lives. That season shaped me in more ways than I can explain and taught me a level of compassion, patience, and care that I will always carry with me. But deep down, I felt a pull toward something different. I wanted to be part of moments that felt lighter. I wanted to witness laughter, love, and the kind of days people look back on with a full heart instead of a broken one.

My dad saw my love for photography long before I allowed myself to see it. He bought me my very first camera, and if I’m being honest, I let it sit in my basement collecting dust for years. I was scared to try. Scared I wouldn’t be good enough. Still, he believed in me anyway. If he hadn’t given me that camera, I’m not sure I’d be here today, running a business that once felt like nothing more than a quiet dream in the back of my mind.

Now, as a Montana wedding and elopement photographer, I get to combine everything I love: caring for people, capturing meaningful moments, and exploring the incredible landscapes this state has to offer. My background in healthcare, along with my love for the outdoors and experience exploring Montana’s mountains, has given me the knowledge and confidence to help couples feel prepared, comfortable, and safe while adventuring in the wilderness. Whether we’re hiking to a breathtaking Glacier National Park overlook or chasing a mountain sunset, I’m not just there to take photos, I’m there to help you have an incredible experience from beginning to end.

MY STYLE

My style is true to color with a subtle moody touch, creating soft, timeless images full of warmth and natural emotion. I focus on preserving colors as they naturally appear while adding just enough depth and richness to give your photos a classic, romantic feel. My goal is to create images that feel genuine and true to your day, so when you look back years from now, they'll bring you right back to those moments without feeling overly trendy or heavily edited.

MY APPROACH

I blend candid prompting with light editorial direction, guiding natural movement and connection while adding a few intentional, artfully posed moments. Every couple is different, so I can be as hands on or as hands off as you'd like. If you want lots of guidance and direction, I'm happy to help every step of the way. If you'd rather I quietly document the day as it naturally unfolds, I'm just as comfortable blending into the background and being a fly on the wall. My approach is all about photographing your day in a way that feels authentic to you. I bring a laid back, go with the flow presence so the experience feels relaxed and unhurried, resulting in a gallery that feels genuine, emotional, and beautifully composed.
